Wedding Planner Timeline: 2 Months Before Your Big Day

Our Ocean Isle Beach wedding planners have been bringing you our Wedding Planner Timeline this summer and we’re quickly approaching the end of our timeline! Previously, we’ve shared our wedding checklists for 12+, 9-12, 5-8 and 3-4 months before your wedding day and below is our checklist for 2 months before your wedding.   • Ocean Isle Beach WeddingsSchedule your final fitting for your gown and make it an event to be shared with your bridesmaids and flower girl! Your bridesmaids and flower girl should have their final fittings as well, and confirm with the men’s formal wear shop that they have everyone’s measurements and that you are on schedule.
  • Also confirm with your vendors and florists that all of your orders are on schedule. This is the best time to fill in any potential gaps either you or your vendors have.
  • Choose your wedding music and if applicable, discuss with your band or DJ. Be prepared to share ideas and be sure to include songs that have a special meaning for you and your groom.
  • Schedule a meeting with your photographer to finalize plans and also visit the ceremony and reception areas so you can be prepared on your wedding day.
  • Order your thank you cards and address labels so that writing your thank you notes will be that much easier after your wedding.
  • Submit a wedding announcement in your local newspaper. Be sure to save extra copies or send the website link to family and friends out of town.
  • And make time to have some FUN at your Bridal Luncheon and Bachelorette Party! Try to find out (without spoiling any surprises, of course) if your friends have already begun planning a party if you don’t have one already planned.

Wedding Planner Timeline: 12+ Months Before Your Big Day

And in order to help our brides-to-be, we’d like to share our timeline to plan the wedding of your dreams. Upon engagement, we recommend our brides: 

  • Ocean Isle Beach Wedding PlannerDecide with your fiancé and family the budget, style and location of your event. This will also help you decide how many guests you can invite, the venues and vendors you can afford, and the overall style of your wedding. Here you should also decide whether you’d like to proceed with a wedding consultant. Our wedding planners make planning immensely easier and have relationships with multiple vendors in Southeastern North Carolina.
  • Start a personalized wedding folder or binder. Keeping your contracts, appointments, photos and color swatches in order will make wedding planning so much more enjoyable and easier.
  • Start your guest list and decide who will be in your wedding party. Before sending out your “Save the Dates”, create a spreadsheet with everyone’s contact info, RSVP’s, general notes and space to enter gift information. This will come in handy when you have to send Thank You notes later!
  • Research and Reserve. Research event venues and vendors, schedule meetings and tastings and be prepared to pay your deposits. Here your wedding binder will come in handy! Keep contact information, price estimates and contract in your binder. Be aware of your venues and vendors’ refund/cancellation policies and travel time if your ceremony and reception are at different locations.
  • Schedule your officiant.
  • OPTIONAL: If time and your budget permits, submit an engagement notice to your local paper and/or plan an engagement party. Your out-of-town guests and relatives may like to see a copy of your announcement, so be sure to get extra copies or send them electronically.
